Modify Previous Service

The Abu Dhabi Pension Fund issued a resolution allowing the extension of the installments period of the previous service terms addition cost, for the active members registered with the Fund to 10 years instead of 5 years, in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership to enhancing financial stability on citizens, and to facilitate all procedures that preserve their rights and secure their future.

The new resolution importance for the active members?

According to the procedures for installing the cost of adding the service previously approved by the Fund, the maximum installment period available to the active members who pay the addition cost on the basis of refunding the end of service benefits was five years, but according to the new resolution, the period will be increased to 10 years, which shall contribute to enhancing financial stability on citizens, and reduce the value of the monthly installment by a large percentage.

Applicable Categories:

  • The active members who are currently paying the cost of the previous service addition in installments;
  • The requests of the new service addition after the resolution issuance; and
  • The active members to whom an initial approval to add the previous service was issued.

Resolution Objective

The Fund is keen to implement the directives of the wise leadership by reviewing and updating all procedures affecting citizens and taking decisions to facilitate the procedures, preserve their rights and raise their satisfaction level, and extend the installment period in return for adding the service which contributes to enhancing financial stability on citizens as it significantly reduces the installment amount.

Mechanism and conditions for scheduling installments after the period extension

There are no specific conditions for submitting extension requests. In case you submit payment extension request, the remaining installments will be rescheduled, and the installments period will be extended to maximum 10 years.

Example:

An Active member is currently paying the cost of his previous service addition in installments divided on 60 months; the value of the current installment is AED 6,000. According to the new Resolution, the active member has the option to increase the period of installments to a maximum of 120 months, therefore, the installment amount after rescheduling will be AED 3,000.

How to submit a request to extend the payment period

All active members wishing to reschedule the installment period can submit extension requests online through the service of amending the previous service addition via the Fund's website www.pension.gov.ae and the smart application "Abu Dhabi Pensions"
